Ultimate Frisbee Free Clinics 2012

Attention All Ultimate Players!!!

Guelph Ultimate is hosting a free "How to Play Ultimate Clinic" to teach new players the game. 

  • There will be two free "How to play Ultimate" clinic's Wednesday April 11th at Wednesday April 25th, 7pm to 8pm at Varsity Turf Field at the U of Guelph

  • We will be working on flicks (forehand) and backhands.

  • This will be a great opportunity to learn how to play the game and for newer players to improve your game.

  • Bring a friend who hasn't played before.

                          -  Individuals can register for $85**/person per league

 

A Division - Indoor 6 vs 6 Co-ed Ultimate (Marden Field House)

Winter 1 League    - Monday Evenings, between 6pm to 10pm start

                             November 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, December 3rd, 10th, 17th, January 7th, 14th, 2013

Team Structure    -  Minimum of 2 males and 2 females on the field

                          -  It is recommended that each team have 11 to 12 players

                          - Teams can register for $1000**/teams per league

                          -  Individuals can register for $85**/person per league

Registration Deadlines

- Spring League - Opens February 1st, and Closes Friday, April 27th, 2012

- Winter 1 League - Opens Monday September 3rd and Closes Friday, September 28th 2012

  • Teams or individuals can enter into any division they feel that best suits them. 

  • Just go to the Registration page, fill out the electronic form and mail it in with a cheque.

    Just a reminder there is Social and free food at the Stampede Ranch, The Albion Hotel and Frank & Steins after the game.  Hope to see you there...


    Please note that when playing at Lourdes High School, there is a track group that has the track rented at the same time that we are playing Ultimate on the field.  Please keep an eye on them and do not cross the track during the game or sit/stand on the track.  When you set up the fields please sit in the middle of the field facing the track instead of on the sidelines. That way, we won't interfere with the track group running sprints and cause an accident. Thanks for helping keep everyone safe.


    Games are played rain or shine (but no lightning or if the city closes the fields), cancelled games are not rescheduled.  Always show to the game even if it's raining as the weather can change very quickly. At the start of the game the captains are to make the decision if the games are to be cancelled. If lightning cancels any game the rest of the games are canceled for the night.

     

    LIGHTNING POLICY: If thunder is heard within 30 seconds of seeing lightning, games will be postponed. All participants must leave the playing area and seek shelter in a building or an automobile. Never stand under trees, in an open field or under an umbrella. Games will resume 15 minutes after the thunder and lightning have moved away. If thunder and lightning are still present 15 minutes after, the game will be cancelled and the score counts as it was when the game was stopped. Halftime must be reached (8 points by one team in the A Division or 22 minutes in the B and C Division) in order for the game to count towards the league standings.


Stall Fall Classic Tournament

Guelph Touring Teams

  • MuD will be running a competitive mixed touring team out of Guelph this Summer.  They will be practicing twice a week and be playing a bunch of tournaments throughout the summer, inpreparation of the the National Tournament in August.  If you are interested please contact Chris Sanderson at MuDUltimate@gmail.com.

    Touring's Team

    Guelph Juniors Ultimate (known as GJU) is now looking for juniors players (age 14 to 18) around the Guelph area to play for a touring team. GJU's goals include practicing once a week, playing in a local league, participating at several local and regional tournaments throughout the year.
