Beach Volleyball Leagues - Suggested Skill Level
Recreational Division - For new players or totally fun teams. Most rallies will not see 3 hits each time. They will be more focused towards learning the game and less concerned of the skill level of play. Most importantly the team is looking for a fun night out with friends.
Intermediate Division - is geared towards participants who are still relatively new to the sport but are seeking a little bit more competition. Participants that play at this level have a reasonable knowledge of the rules and the game. For teams with some experience, most players on the team should be able to pass bump and set with relative accuracy and should be prepared for hitting and blocking. This should be a team of players who are honing their skills as passers and hitters but are inconsistent with their delivery of bump-set-spike play. Some players will have played at an organized level (ie. their high school team). Most importantly the team is looking to hang out with a good group of friends and play some volleyball.
Competitive Division - For skilled volleyball players. Most players on the team have played at a higher level of volleyball and/or have a high level of volleyball skills (IE. played on their high school volleyball team). Generally, players should be able to serve over the net most of the time and be confident of being able to serve to a target, pass up a serve, as well as having knowledge of rotations and positioning. The team should be able to receive, set, and hit the ball on offence most of the time. Most importantly the team is looking to hang out with a good group of friends and play some great volleyball.
