Captain's Corner/FAQ
Welcome to the Captain's Corner for Where's the Beach Volleyball. This page can answer some questions about general league operations, and hopefully - with your help - we can make the league run as smooth and enjoyable as possible. If you have any more questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at the addresses provided in the contacts section. Have a great season.
Clipboard/Game Sheets/Waivers
At the start of the season there will be a captains meeting where each captain will receive a clipboard complete with a set of waivers for everyone to sign, a set of game sheets and a pen. The clipboard given to the captain is yours to keep and to bring to every game.
Waivers
- At the start of the each season (one per year) everyone
sign a RELEASE OF
LIABILITY WAIVER. If you add a player through out the year, just get them
to sign a waiver as well, even if it's only for one game. The signed
waivers are to be placed on the wooden clipboard located on the inside door of
the concrete bunker for the league convener to pick up.
Game Sheets - At the end of games the captains will fill out the game sheets and will submit them online using the online score reporter within 24hrs of your game.
Spirit - At the end of each game a Spirit Score is to be awarded to the opposing team on a scale from 1-5 (half scores are permitted). The team as a whole should have input on what spirit score should be award to the other team. At the end of the season there will be a Spirit Trophy and prizes for the team with the highest spirit average. All teams should try to follow the guidelines set out in the spirit guide in order to keep it consistent with every team in the league (See Spirit Guide).
Schedules - All schedules will be posted on www.perpetualmotion.org.
Proper Clean-up Procedures
At the end of the night the last two teams are responsible for taking down the nets and locking them away in the concrete bunker.
Ensure that all accessories are packed. There should be 1 crank, 4 bungee cords, 6 yellow tent pegs, a ball, score chart, first aid kit and a net which need to be put back into the bag.
When rolling up the perimeter lines place one of the silver rings from the lines onto the screw that is on the wooden spool. The wooden spool for the 2's league is red, the wooden spool for the 4's and 6's leagues are unpainted.
Begin to wrap the lines onto the spool gripping both lengths of the rope that is attached to the ring. Please do not wrap the lines around your arm, as this takes us hours to undo the next day.
